Dana Zakalik, MD
Dr. Zakalik graduated from the University of Michigan Medical School and completed a residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Michigan. She completed a Fellowship in Hematology and Oncology at University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) and is board certified in Internal Medicine and Oncology. Dr. Zakalik also became faculty at UCSF in the Division of Oncology and received National Institute of Health (NIH) grant awards to study gene expression and transcriptional regulation in cancer. Dr. Zakalik came to Beaumont in 1997, where she initiated and developed a corporate wide program in Cancer Genetics at Beaumont Health System; which has become one of the busiest cancer genetics programs in the region. Dr. Zakalik and is currently a member of the core teaching faculty in the Hematology and Oncology division and is actively involved in resident and fellow education in Oncology and Genetics. She is also a Professor in the Oakland University William Beaumont Medical School is on the Board of Directors of the Michigan Cancer Consortium.
Lindsay Dohany, MS, CGC
Lindsay is an ABGC certified genetic counselor with the Beaumont Health System's Cancer Genetics Program since 2008. She received her Master of Science in Genetic Counseling from Wayne State University in 2007. Lindsay specializes in risk assessment and counseling for individuals and families at risk for hereditary cancer syndromes. She is co-facilitator for the Beaumont-sponsored BRCA positive support group, called Positively Empowered. She previously worked in prenatal genetics at the Center for Maternal Fetal Medicine in Las Vegas, Nevada. Lindsay currently serves as education chair for the Michigan Cancer Genetics Alliance (MCGA) and Michigan Association of Genetic Counselors (MAGC). She is also a member of the National Society of Genetic Counselors (NSGC), the Michigan Cancer Consortium (MCC), and the Lynch Syndrome Screening Network (LSSN). Lindsay enjoys supervising genetic counseling students and educating medical students, health care professionals and the community about genetics.
Jennifer Fulbright, MS, CGC
Jennifer is a board certified genetic counselor at the Cancer Genetics Program at Beaumont Health System. She received her Master of Science in Genetic Counseling from Wayne State University. Prior to her arrival at Beaumont, she began her genetic counseling career at the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute. She currently provides genetic counseling and risk assessment to individuals who are at an increased risk for a hereditary predisposition to developing cancer. Jennifer chairs the membership committee for the Michigan Cancer Genetic Alliance (MCGA) and is also involved in the National Society of Genetic Counselors (NSGC) and Michigan Association of Genetic Counselors (MAGC). Other professional activities include supervision of genetic counseling students, co-facilitating the Positively Empowered support group for individuals with a BRCA mutation, and cancer genetics education outreach to healthcare providers and the community.
Heidi Dreyfuss, MS
Heidi is a genetic counselor at the Cancer Genetics Program at the Beaumont Health System, where sheprovides genetic counseling to individuals and families at risk for having a hereditary cancer syndrome. She received her Master of Science in Genetic Counseling from the University of Michigan. Heidi is a member of the National Society of Genetic Counselors (NSGC) and the Michigan Association of Genetic Counselors (MAGC). Her research interest includes communication of genetic test results to family members.
Ashley Reeves, MS
Ashley is a genetic counselor at the Cancer Genetics Program at the Beaumont Health System. She currently provides risk assessment and counseling to individuals at risk for hereditary cancer syndromes. She received her Master of Science in Genetic Counseling from Wayne State University and is a member of both the National Society of Genetic Counselors (NSGC) and the Michigan Association of Genetic Counselors (MAGC). She also helps facilitate Positively Empowered, a support group for families with a BRCA mutation.
