Information for Families and Caregivers

Cancer changes everything, and not just for patients. The same stress and fear experienced by cancer patients can also be felt by their families, friends and caregivers. Even talking about cancer may overwhelm some people. And others may be genuinely willing to assist but not have a clue how to be helpful.

Members of the oncology team at Beaumont know that cancer therapy means treating a person, not just a disease. Consequently, they work hard to support the family, friends and caregivers who surround each cancer patient. And because staff know patients personally, the advice and support can be tailored to meet individual needs.

Staff at the Beaumont Cancer Resource Centers can refer patients, families and caregivers to many practical and helpful services. Never hesitate to ask for help in managing the many challenging aspects of diagnosis and treatment.
