Community and Minority Outreach Program

Cancer Screening and Education Saves Lives

The community and Minority Outreach Program of the Beaumont Cancer Institute's goal is to provide cancer education and health care services to minority communities. By increasing awareness through education, the Program works to reduce the incidence of various cancers, increase the number of people undergoing cancer screening procedures and, ulitimately, help save lives.

The program organizes and sponsors annual forums that specifically address the health needs of certain minority groups by providing cancer education, cancer screenings, assistance and information. The program has held the following events:

  • Annual African-American Cancer Prevention Forum
  • Annual Arab/Chaldean Cancer Symposia
  • Annual Native American Cancer Prevention Forum
  • Heritage Healing Pow Wow
  • Southeast Asian Cancer Prevention Forum
  • Hispanic and Latino Cancer Prevention Forum
  • Cancer Roundtable
