Stereotactic Radiosurgery

Stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) is the most accurate radiation treatment for malignant cancers and benign lesions in the brain and head. By using three-dimensional, computer-aided technology, Beaumont physicians can minimize the amount of healthy tissue that’s exposed to radiation.

At Beaumont, we offer several types of stereotactic radiosurgery, including Gamma Knife and linear accelerator-based stereotactic radiosurgery. We have clinical protocols that allow image-guided extracranial stereotactic radiosurgery to treat tumors throughout the body.

Stereotactic radiosurgery is not appropriate treatment for all conditions, so talk to your neurosurgeon or radiation oncologist to see if it’s right for you.
